Overview

Are you passionate about emergency work? Do you love getting stuck in, adapting to the situation and working in an exciting and fast paced environment? Our clients are a long-established award winning independent veterinary group looking for a small animal emergency and critical care vet to join their Night team in a fantastic recently refurbished veterinary hospital in North West London.

The hospital operates on a rotation of 7 nights on, 21 nights off, 7 nights on, then 28 nights off, ideal for travellers or those splitting time between locations. Applicants should ideally be confident working sole charge and be passionate about emergency and critical care work. You will work well as part of a team and be supported nightly by an experienced RVN to ensure gold standard care.

The hospital features state-of-the-art facilities including a new CT scanner in a purpose-built imaging suite, ultrasound, digital x-ray, surgical theatres, prep areas, isolation and separate ward areas, ICU unit and more. It provides first opinion, emergency and critical care as well as referral services with access to specialists and experienced clinicians for support and guidance as needed. This offers the opportunity to see and work up a large variety of cases.

The location is about 30 minutes' drive from Heathrow Airport, with easy access to central London and major motorways. There is onsite parking and convenient public transport options nearby for commuting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and critical care for small animals as part of the night team, with potential to work sole charge.
  • Collaborate with a team and be supported nightly by an experienced RVN to deliver gold standard care.
  • Utilise state-of-the-art facilities (CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, theatres, ICU) to assess and manage cases.
  • Contribute to case management, client communication and hospital workflows in a busy emergency setting.
Requirements
  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon and eligible to register with the RCVS.
