OverviewThe Waldorf Astoria London - Admiralty Arch will open later this year as a luxury hotel located at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, featuring 100 elegant rooms and suites, 17,500 sqft of private residences, two Michelin starred restaurants, a spa, fitness facilities, and event spaces.
ResponsibilitiesThe following are key responsibilities for a Night Security Officer:
- Monitor and control all staff and service entrances with diligence and discretion.
- Conduct authorised staff bag searches in accordance with company policy, reporting any discrepancies or violations immediately.
- Administer and control goods pass out procedure for purchased, loaned, or legitimate items.
- Maintain systems monitoring contractors on site, ensuring full compliance with company health and safety standards.
- Verify and check goods received outside of normal operating hours.
- Maintain accurate records for issue and return of departmental keys.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain the CCTV system in accordance with legal and brand requirements.
- Conduct regular security patrols of the hotel, ensuring fire walks are completed and accurately recorded.
- Ensure safe and discreet movement of cash transfers within the hotel.
- Support and coordinate hotel evacuations during fire alarm activations or emergency situations.
- Monitor suspicious items and remain fully conversant with bomb, terror, and threat response procedures.
- Provide secure storage solutions for guests' oversized or valuable items.
- Ensure all hotel facilities, back of house areas, and function rooms are secured and locked when not in use.
- Maintain detailed and accurate Security Log Books and Incident Reports.
- Investigate and report all incidents involving theft, criminal damage, or misconduct.
- Manage undesirable behaviour with professionalism and discretion, calmly de escalating potential confrontations.
- Liaise with local law enforcement authorities in the absence of the Security Team Leader.
- Identify and promptly report maintenance defects or safety hazards to the supervisor on duty.
- Comply fully with all health, safety, and security regulations at all times.
- Secondary education or higher qualification.
- Excellent physical condition, suitable for a demanding operational role.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in law enforcement, professional security services, or military training.
- Thorough knowledge of fire safety procedures, emergency response plans, bomb threat management, and evacuation protocols.
- Strong understanding of local laws and government regulations.
- Absolute discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive or privileged information.
- Valid SIA training and licence.
- A positive, composed, and professional demeanour.
- Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Impeccable personal grooming and presentation standards.
- Proven ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, particularly in emergency scenarios.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Previous experience in a luxury or customer focused service environment.
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of P.A.C.E. procedures.
- Strong IT literacy and system proficiency.
