Salary: £30,000 gross per annum
Working Pattern: Full-time, with flexible working opportunities, including the potential for a four-day working week.

About the Role

Are you a newly qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to develop your skills and build a successful career in construction?

We are looking for a motivated, commercially minded individual to support our tendering, cost management and project delivery activities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, work alongside experienced professionals and develop a broader understanding of construction and commercial management.

Alongside traditional Quantity Surveying responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to explore how AI, automation and emerging technologies can improve estimating, reporting and project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, reviewing and submitting accurate, competitive and commercially viable tenders.

• Analyse drawings, specifications, pricing schedules and tender documentation.

• Monitor project budgets, costs and expenditure, supporting financial forecasting and reporting.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

• Identify opportunities to improve estimating, tendering and commercial processes through digital tools, AI and automation.

• Develop practical knowledge of construction programmes, resource planning, site operations and project coordination.

• Support compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, company procedures and relevant legislation.

• Maintain accurate commercial records and contribute to quality assurance, health and safety and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.

• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• An interest in commercial management and construction operations.

• A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.

• The ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.

• Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with estimating, tendering or cost-management software.

• An interest in AI, automation and digital construction technologies.

• An understanding of construction contracts, procurement and compliance requirements.

• A willingness to undertake further training in construction and project management.

• Ambition to progress into a wider commercial or operational management role.
