Newborn Hearing ScreenerThe closing date is 10 March 2026
To work as part of a team providing hearing screening for newborn babies by identifying eligible babies, communicating with parents & families, gathering & recording screening information & uploading data.
The post involves direct handling of newborn babies, contact with new parents, & working closely with maternity staff, neonatal staff & the audiology team.
The post involves some weekend & Bank Holiday working.

Main duties of the job- To identify which babies require screening.
- To liaise effectively with parents, team members & other health care professionals.
- To explain the process of the screen to parents & gain their consent.
- To carry out the hearing screening of newborn babies within the maternity unit, neonatal unit, paediatric unit & hospital & community clinics.
- Accurately collect & record data on screening equipment & upload to national computer database.
- To calibrate, use accurately & ensure safety & security of equipment.
- To work within a team promoting a professional family friendly approach & environment.

Person Specification Qualifications- English and Maths GCSE
- Qualified Newborn Hearing Screener
- Level 3 Diploma in Health Care
- Good understanding of newborn Hearing Screening Programme
- Good communication skills and ability to prioritise workloads
- Car driver with access to a car that can be used for work
- Previous experience in health care
