NCIC are seeking a Neurophysiology Technician to work within the developing Neurophysiology department and support the delivery of EEG and NCS clinics in a number of outpatient and inpatient settings across Cumbria.

Main duties of the job- Performs a range of basic and highly specialised neurophysiological investigations on patients of all ages from a range of specialities suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders including those, which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.
- Receive and analyse highly specialised clinical information (request forms, medical data) to plan, prepare and produce factual technical interpretation and data analysis of investigations preformed. This may be in written, oral and electronic formats. All data is confidential.
- Plan, perform without supervision and interpret a range of basic and highly specialised neurophysiological investigations to a high level of competence to patients
- Perform EEG investigations using highly specialised techniques
- Assist with EMG (Electromyography) examinations, NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies) in the Neurophysiology Department.
- Perform all modality evoked potentials taking appropriate action where necessary.
- Provide technical reports on a range of Neurophysiological investigations and collaborate with the Clinical Neurophysiologist to produce an accurate clinical report, which contributes to the clinical assessment and management of the patient.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person Specification Qualifications- MSC in Neurosensory Science OR one of the following: oBSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent oPG Cert in Neurophysiology + Neurophysiological Scientists (ANS) Part 1 Examination oBETC ONC / HCN in MPPM or equivalent + Neurophysiological Scientists (ANS) Part 1 Examination PLUS Masters level experience in specialist clinical physiologist or healthcare science practitioner in Neurophysiology
- Registration with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) or the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
- Member of ANS
- Experienced in standard and prolonged EEG including ambulatory EEG
- Experience of physiologist led carpal tunnel and upper limb entrapments clinics
- Experience in all modalities of evoke potentials
- Experience of teaching at a basic level and work-based assessment
- Experience of recording video telemetry EEG
- Experience with NCS for peripheral Neuropathy
- Good interpersonal relationship skills
- Ability to lead a team
