Please note - This role requires the selected candidate to hold UK Government Clearance to SC level or be eligible for it. This role also requires you to work on a shift pattern (days / nights). Locations: Sheffield or Hatfield
Why this job matters
This role exists to provide specialist technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for UK contracts. Building effective working relationships and trust through communication and meeting deadlines is key. Liaising with customer representatives or vendors and directing support staff will also be part of the role.
Supporting new products and services is crucial to stay industry and customer requirements and maintain BT's market position. As a Cyber Security Professional, you will support this area, working confidently and proactively to promote successful outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Be a cyber incident decision maker, ensuring mitigation controls and incident response are appropriate.
- Provide security advice and remediation to BT Lines of Business and external customers.
- Complete and own integration testing on new products and services, producing relevant documentation.
- Support team leader and line manager positively.
- Safeguard sensitive customer information to maintain trust.
Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting, change management, and stakeholder management.
What we would like to see on your CV
- External professional certification in security disciplines, e.g., Fortinet NSE 4, Cisco CCNP, Checkpoint CCSE, Palo Alto.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP & OSI model and data network operations.
- Understanding of engineering best practices and continuous delivery.
- Experience with incident and escalation management.
- Willingness to undergo UK Government Security Clearance to SC level, requiring UK residence for at least 5 years.
