Amazon Connect is a cloud-based contact center platform enabling businesses to deliver engaging, dynamic, and personal customer service experiences. Built on ten years of development, it leverages AI and the AWS ecosystem, including Amazon Lex, Polly, Lambda, S3, and Kinesis, to provide a seamless, extensible customer experience. This technology is transforming customer interactions and service delivery.

We are seeking a passionate Network Development Engineer to innovate and develop the telecom infrastructure essential to modern cloud contact centers. This role involves designing, owning, and delivering scalable, resilient systems with a strong customer focus.

The ideal candidate is a Telecom/VoIP Engineer with deep expertise in SIP, networking, and Linux/UNIX systems, capable of working on our internally developed SIP-based call center platform. You will join a diverse team of engineers working to improve our telephony platform's efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and maintaining Amazon Connect's telecom infrastructure
  2. Providing telecom expertise for business and engineering decisions
  3. Mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams
  4. Integrating new telephony providers
  5. Developing automation tools for scalability
  6. Creating and reviewing telecom documentation

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with internet routing protocols
  • 4+ years in Linux/Unix environments
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years relevant experience in large-scale environments
  • 4+ years in telecom network design, SIP, VoIP, and operations
  • 1+ years scripting experience with Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl
  • Hands-on experience with open-source VoIP systems like Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, SIPp, SER
