Network Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join us within the East of England Diagnostic Network Team on a part time basis. The network team has expanded to include four diagnostic networks: Pathology, Imaging, Endoscopy and Physiological Sciences.

Diagnostic networks are advocates in creating an environment to support all our staff to develop and grow, share skills and knowledge, embrace innovation, deliver excellence and value within our transformation activities and data is a key enabler for this.

In this role you will lead specific project streams aimed at supporting Cost Improvement Programmes (CIP) at the local trust level.

You will be able to identify areas to improve quality and reduce costs and help deliver innovative opportunities for member trusts.

This post is until 31st March 2026, up to 22.5 hours per week. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead complex data projects, ensuring compliance with NHS standards and achieving cost savings.
  • Identify potential CIP initiatives at the trust level, aiming for significant savings without compromising service quality.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams across multiple trusts to identify opportunities and streamline reporting processes.
  • Provide support to the Network Operational Director in delivering various projects within the networks.
  • Identify new opportunities to deliver cost and value benefits across the network's portfolio.
  • Represent the network at various events, necessitating occasional travel around the East of England

Person Specification Experience
  • Experience in delivering analytical products and insights, including predictive analyses and visual analysis dashboards
  • Experience of analysing data in R and Python
  • Experience of working in a data science role
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience developing machine learning algorithms
  • Experience developing teams
Qualifications
  • Educated to masters level or equivalent experience in a numerical subject, such as Maths, Statistics, Data Analysis or Data Science
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Further training in analytics and statistical analysis where relevant
  • Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience
  • Azure and PowerBI certifications
Knowledge
  • Advanced skills in at least one programming language commonly used for analysis (e.g. R, Python and SQL)
  • Advanced user in R or Python
  • Use of analytical techniques, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, such as regression modelling, decision trees and classification.
  • Benchmarking, modelling and forecasting skills
  • Automation using SQL and Microsoft apps
  • Knowledge of NHS IT systems
  • Understanding of NHS data flows and information issues, including Data
