About Our Client

We represent a large organisation within the Distribution sector. With a nationwide footprint, our client is recognised for its robust infrastructure and commitment to delivering high-quality services to its customers. A prominent provider of sustainable load carriers, offering a range of solutions including wooden and plastic pallets, metal roll cages, and pooling services throughout a number of European countries. The company supplies both new and refurbished wooden pallets, in addition to providing pallet recovery and recycling services.

Job Description

A successful National Sales Manager will:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sales growth in the assigned territory.
  • Grow and develop a team, process, and structures.
  • Sell load carry solutions; plastic or wooden pallets, roll cages, and pooling services.
  • Open up distribution branches across the country.
  • Perform regular client visits to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are informed.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Oversee, grow, and lead the sales team to ensure results are met.
  • Provide feedback to the team and coach them for improvement.
  • Represent the company in all sales meetings, events, and conferences.

The Successful Applicant

A successful National Sales Manager should have:

  • Base in the Midlands - Nottingham or Birmingham area - commutable to.
  • Proven sales experience in a managerial position ideally within the load carry (pallet) or Transport & Distribution industry (logistics).
  • Good sales leadership background with sales process/structure and the ability to sell products while working within tight margins.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics.
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and team management skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and meeting client requirements.
