Scottish Patient Safety Programme (SPSP) Perinatal Programme

Secondment until 31 March 2027 (1 day per week / 7.4 hours per week)

Commensurate with existing salary

Edinburgh/Glasgow - hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future

This is an exciting opportunity for a Neonatal Nursing Clinical Lead with extensive clinical expertise in perinatal care to join the Medical and Safety directorate within Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise, clinical advice and visible leadership to the established SPSP Perinatal programme and wider quality improvement collaboratives.
  • As part of the SPSP Perinatal programme team the postholder will provide visible support to teams participating in the collaborative.
  • The post holder will support teams to deliver evidence-based interventions for perinatal services, which improve experience and outcomes for women, birthing people, babies and families across Scotland.
Qualifications
  • Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and educated to Masters level (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant neonatal experience across the four pillars of practice: clinical practice, facilitating learning, leadership and evidence, and research and development.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and influencing skills with experience of leading improvement within perinatal services.
  • Ideally experience of engaging with diverse groups and wider multi-professional teams as well as relevant leadership or management experience.
  • You will be expected to have active involvement with clinical networks in your professional area and be well placed to identify the connections and opportunities created by system-wide working.
  • You will work with other national clinical leads, advisors, and professional groups and bodies across the UK and internationally to continually develop the programme and share learning.
