Responsibilities
  • Weekly teaching, full school day - 8:45 am-3:30/4:30 pm, term time
  • Permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school(s)
  • Teaching from 1 to 5 days per week
  • Singing led curricular whole class music lessons - Nursery to Year 6 following Sing Education teaching resources
  • Choirs, lunchtime and after school clubs
Qualifications

University graduate with a degree in music or a related field

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong vocal skills with the confidence to lead lessons and assemblies
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Capability to conduct whole class music lessons
  • Basic keyboard proficiency for classroom use
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum for music
  • Proficient with ICT and able to use online systems such as G Suite
Experience
  • Experience in classroom teaching or one on one instruction
  • Previous work with children or young people in a teaching or leadership role
Personal Attributes
  • Passionate about inspiring a love for music in pupils
  • Strong classroom management and disciplinary skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both Sing Education and school teams
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality
  • Possesses a sense of humour and can generate enthusiasm for music
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
Compensation
  • Full time Salary PA: £24,867 - £32,542 (for 5 days per week), based on a 5 point progressive pay scale.
  • Staff progress up the pay scale with each 12 months of service following a successful managerial supervision meeting. Initial pay is dependent on classroom music experience and weekly hours + pension.
  • 7 - 40 hours per week - 38 weeks per year + paid training.
