Music Cover Teacher - Darlington

Job Description

We are looking for passionate musicians with a degree in music (or a related field such as musical theatre or music education) to deliver engaging, singing led, whole class curriculum music lessons to students from Nursery to Year 6.

Responsibilities include delivering the signature curriculum, conducting singing assemblies, leading choirs and clubs, and completing handovers to the Sing Education admin team.

Requirements

• Availability: Short term and long term cover assignments, Monday Friday, during term time, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Must be able to accept short notice assignments (informed 7:30 am or the previous afternoon).
• Certification: Must be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
• The Teaching: Deliver the singing led whole class curriculum using cover lesson plans provided by Sing Education.
• Communication & Collaboration: Maintain professional communication with partner schools and the admin team; complete a thorough handover at the end of each day. Attend comprehensive team training and induction sessions (online and in person).
• Club Day: £160 per day for any assignment that includes a before or after school club (starting at 7:30 am or finishing at 4:30 pm).
• Winter Bonus Scheme: £25 bonus added to the daily rate for same day shifts accepted during November to February.
