Multi Trade Operative

London (Student Accommodation Buildings)
£19.39 per hour
Start Date: 24th August
Initial 1-Month Temporary Assignment
37.5 Hours per Week, 5 days between Monday to Sunday

Are you an experienced Multi Trade Operative looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading student accommodation provider for a skilled Multi Trade Operative to support the maintenance and upkeep of student residential properties across London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy facilities team, carrying out a variety of maintenance and repair tasks within occupied student accommodation buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance across student accommodation properties.
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) works.
  • Diagnose and rectify building defects and maintenance issues.
  • Complete electrical and general multi-trade maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety legislation.
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessments before undertaking work.
  • Maintain accurate records through digital job management systems.
  • Identify and report additional maintenance requirements.
  • Deliver a high standard of workmanship and customer service at all times.
  • Ensure properties remain safe, secure, warm and fully operational for residents.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience working as a Multi Trade Operative, Maintenance Operative, Facilities Technician or similar.
  • Practical experience within construction, maintenance or facilities management environments.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Electrical or Plumbing.
  • Additional trade qualifications (plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating, etc.) would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
  • Competent in the safe use of tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent communication skills.
