Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment on a permanent night shift. The role will focus on maintaining production equipment, responding to breakdowns, completing planned maintenance, and supporting site reliability and continuous improvement. Working as part of a small engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production and packaging machinery
  • Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime
  • Diagnose and fault-find electrical and mechanical issues
  • Maintain and repair equipment including mixers, ovens, packaging machinery and general production equipment
  • Complete maintenance records and follow site procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiativesWork closely with production teams to maintain safe and efficient operations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and engineering standards
  • Escalate recurring faults and issues to the engineering leadership team
The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • A strong background in multi-skilled maintenance engineering
  • Experience working within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment
  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Strong fault-finding skills across industrial machinery
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a small engineering team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Previous experience working night shifts would be beneficial
Desirable Skills:
  • Recognised engineering qualification (or equivalent hands on maintenance experience)
  • Experience maintaining production and packaging machinery
  • Background within food manufacturing or similar regulated environments
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and reliability practices
  • Overseas engineering qualifications supported by UK ENIC/NARIC equivalency will be considered
