Are you a genuinely multi-skilled engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and being trusted to just get on with it?

We're recruiting for a well-established, highly respected international manufacturer operating within a regulated production environment. This is a permanent opportunity on their PM shift offering long-term stability, excellent benefits and a strong engineering culture.

This is not a "production line only" role. You'll support a technically diverse site including production plant, utilities, wastewater systems and wider building services across two nearby buildings.

The Role

This is a true multi-skilled position with a 60% mechanical / 40% electrical split working within a regulated manufacturing environment with 24/5 operation and state of the art facilities!

You'll be responsible for:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (managed flexibly across the month)
  • Electrical and mechanical breakdown fault-finding
  • Supporting critical plant equipment
  • Maintaining pumps, valves, dosing systems and wastewater treatment equipment
  • Attending facilities issues across production, labs and offices
  • Supporting small improvement and project work throughout the year
  • Accurate documentation via CMMS
  • Working within strict quality, safety and compliance standards

This is a reactive and planned environment - when something stops, you respond. When it's stable, you improve.

The Environment

  • 24/5 manufacturing operation
  • Permanent PM shift after initial training (approx. 6 weeks onboarding on rotating/early shift)
  • Job share arrangement with the AM shift engineer
  • Rare requirement to cover alternative shifts (AM or nights) in exceptional circumstances
  • Strong focus on GMP, quality and safety compliance
  • Engineering team with a mix of personalities - you'll need to be comfortable working independently and integrating into a varied team dynamic

We're Looking For

  • City & Guilds / ONC / HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - Level 3 minimum
  • Strong multi-skilled capability (mechanical bias but confident electrically)
  • Experience within pharma, FMCG, food, chemical, or other regulated/process manufacturing environments
  • Proven fault-finding ability on production equipment
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, valves, dosing systems or utilities
  • Comfortable working alone and as part of a team
  • Organised, proactive and safety conscious

If you've worked in environments where compliance, documentation and quality standards matter - you'll fit well here.

The Package

  • Basic salary up to £52,000
  • 20% shift premium (PM shift)
  • 6% company performance bonus (paid in most years, but not guaranteed)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Private medical and dental cover
  • Company pension with enhanced employer contribution
  • Life assurance & income protection
  • Annual salary review
  • On-site facilities including subsidised dining
  • Training & development support
  • Employee wellbeing programme and retail discounts

This is a financially strong, globally backed organisation with long-serving employees and a stable engineering function.

If you're looking for a long-term PM shift role in a technically interesting, regulated manufacturing environment where engineers are trusted, supported and properly rewarded - this is worth exploring.
