About Jisc

Jisc is the UK's digital, data and technology agency for tertiary education, research and innovation, uniquely positioned to lead and support the sector in building a better digital future for students, communities and society.

At Jisc, we're proud to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every voice is valued. Our September 2026 apprenticeship programme offers a range of exciting opportunities designed to help you grow and thrive in the digital sector. Whether you're just beginning your journey or expanding on existing technical experience, we'll provide the tools and training to help you succeed.

We live by our guiding principles and welcome applicants who share our values and are driven by our mission to improve lives through digital transformation.

  • Customer First - Take ownership, communicate effectively, and focus on quality solutions that deliver on our promises.
  • Never Stand Still - Look ahead, welcome new ideas, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Make an Impact - Be confident, stay curious, and deliver meaningful, sustainable value for our customers.
  • Always Inclusive - Collaborate openly, embrace diversity, and create space for every voice to be heard.
Your future team:

You'll be joining a friendly, collaborative Customer Success team that thrives on supporting each other and delivering great service. We work closely with sales account managers and build strong relationships with our customers, helping them connect with the UK's largest graduate audience. It's a fast-paced, team-focused environment where everyone pitches in, shares knowledge, and celebrates wins together.

A Day in the Life of a Customer Success Apprentice:

Your day kicks off by checking campaign updates and booking new orders into our CRM system (Salesforce), making sure everything's logged and ready to go. You'll liaise with customers to request and process their advertising copy, ensuring it's on-brand and on time. Throughout the day, you'll respond to customer queries, offering friendly, helpful support that keeps campaigns running smoothly.

You'll also work closely with our digital advertising operations team to deliver campaigns to spec and on schedule. To wrap things up, you'll generate campaign performance stats for account managers, helping them showcase results and plan next steps. Along the way, you'll gain hands on experience in digital marketing and early careers recruitment, setting you up for future roles like account manager or digital marketing executive.

Who we're looking for:

Whilst we're not looking for any direct experience in customer success or marketing, we'd love to hear from you if you bring energy, passion, and a genuine interest in digital marketing and technologies.

If you're driven, think outside the box, and have explored areas like media studies, digital art, social media platforms, or emerging digital tools, even just for fun, that's a real bonus. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate yourself clearly will also help you thrive in this role. We're looking for someone curious and enthusiastic, ready to learn and grow with us. Full training will be provided to support your growth and development.

At Jisc we value in person meetings wherever possible, so you'll be expected to travel to our Manchester office at a minimum of once a week (though you're welcome to come in more often if you fancy it).

These face to face meetups spark creative collaboration, strengthen team relationships, and boost bonding, and you'll get to enjoy our swanky offices while you're at it. You'll also benefit from ongoing development and support in your role, with opportunities to grow your skills, learn from colleagues, and shape your career in a collaborative environment.

Discover the amazing benefits we provide! Here's what you can look forward to:
  • Hands On Experience - Work on real projects.
  • Mentorship and Support - One on one support from experienced professionals.
  • Career Growth - Opportunities for advancement.
  • Community - Join networks like Youth Network, LGBTQ+, Neurodiversity, Women's Network, and more.
  • 31 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) that includes three closure days over Christmas
  • Flexible work pattern, which can adapt to suit your schedules and personal commitments
  • Buy up to an additional 5 days leave during the flexible benefits window

  • A wide range of discounts and cashback from retailers and big name high street stores
  • Support your volunteering with up to 3 days volunteer leave
  • Claim back the cost of a Young Person's Railcard each year, saving 1/3 on rail travel
