Job overview

The MRI department has recently undergone an extensive equipment replacement programme, seeing all its MRI scanners replaced with new state of the art scanning technology. The department has installed a Siemens Sola in a new dedicated purpose-built area with a dedicated anaesthetic room, bed bays, reporting work areas and separate cannulation areas, and will see an increase in the number of awake and GA paediatric imaging. In addition to this the department has undergone the replacement of the 3T system with the installation of a Siemens Vida d. In addition there is a GE HDX Twinspeed 1.5T scanner within the department. Also on the John Radcliffe site there is a fourth MRI scanner dedicated to Neuro scanning in the Neuroradiology department in the West Wing of the hospital. This scanner is in the process of being replaced and by the end of September a new Philips Ingenia Ambition will be installed. With the new technology the department is now able to set up links with the University MRI scanning department, seeing new and exciting research into scanning techniques and research.
