Job Description

Job Title: Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £45,000

Mobile role, company will provide Van and fuel card

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)

Contract: Permanent

On-call: - £100 standby - Paid at 4 hours minimum per call-out

Overview

An established facilities management provider is seeking a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join their technical services team, delivering maintenance and small works across a portfolio of retail and commercial sites.

The role is mobile, primarily covering the South M1 corridor, ideal for candidates based between Leeds and Nottingham, with regular work in and around Sheffield.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified gas engineer with strong maintenance experience, who is looking for stability, a flexible salary package, and to be part of a professional and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to commercial gas and heating systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults in gas systems and associated equipment
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety standards
  • Complete detailed reports and documentation of all maintenance and repair activities
  • Maintain excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients
  • Travel to various sites across Northumberland using the company-provided van
  • Perform minor installation works and general building services maintenance
  • Support other maintenance tasks including basic mechanical, HVAC, fabric, and electrical works
  • Undertake fault finding, diagnostics, and rectification of heating plant and associated systems
  • Complete all works in line with health and safety requirements and site procedures
  • Participate in the on-call rota, with paid call-outs
