The Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi was established in 1954. It is registered under section 2 (f)& 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956 and is accredited with B from the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institution has been granted autonomous status by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and Ranchi University in 2025. It holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and most esteemed legal institutions in Jharkhand. Initially it was affiliated with Bihar University, and later became permanently affiliated with Ranchi University.
About the OpportunityThe M.M. Banerjee Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2025 is organized in loving memory of the Late M.M. Banerjee, an illustrious alumnus of our institution and the first Advocate General of Jharkhand. His exemplary contribution to the legal fraternity and unwavering commitment to justice have left an indelible mark on law in Jharkhand. The competition aims to uphold the spirit of advocacy and legal excellence, commemorating his valuable contribution to the judiciary of Jharkhand. It is organized in compliance with guidelines from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) to promote the idea of 'Vocal For Local'. Designed to challenge participants with a complex, intellectually stimulating moot problem, the competition helps law students hone research, advocacy, and presentation skills, providing a platform for young lawyers to gain insight into real-world legal proceedings and pay tribute to a stalwart of Jharkhand's legal fraternity.

- 22nd November 2025: Preliminary Rounds I & II and Researcher Test
- 23rd November 2025: Semi Final Round and Finale
- 23rd November 2025 (Evening): Valedictory Session & Prize Distribution
