Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Large Animal or Equine Bias

Key duties and responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive veterinary care to a variety of animals, including cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, exotics, and poultry.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced equipment such as Idexx lab station, X-ray machine, and ultrasound machines.
• Perform surgical procedures and administer anaesthesia using the latest anaesthetic and dental machines.
• Offer around-the-clock care, including out-of-hours services, to ensure the well-being of all animals.
• Engage in fertility work for cattle and horses, and handle equine tendon scanning.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary standards.

Skills and experience

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with a valid licence to practice.
• Special interest in farm animals or equine care is highly desirable.
• Experience in a mixed veterinary practice is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and surgical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours services.
