Middle & Upper School History / English Teacher

Waterford School seeks a full time Middle & Upper School History / English Teacher. Waterford is a unique school in that Middle and Upper school function as one division: this role would entail teaching both middle and upper school classes in History and potentially English as well. Waterford is a committed liberal arts school; English and History classes are centered on discussion and thoughtful questioning, and our goal is to help students uncover their intellectual curiosity and help them be excited for living an examined life.

The ideal candidate would hold an advanced degree in History, English, or Humanities, would have 2 or more years of relevant teaching experience, and be able to develop a healthy rapport with Middle and Upper School students, and embrace Waterford School's mission, vision, and values in curriculum, teaching, and membership in the community. A full time course load entails full teaching responsibility for up to five courses.
