We're on the lookout for a skilled and versatile Mid-Senior WordPress Developer.

The ideal candidate will spearhead website development projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-centric websites. This role demands proficiency in front-end and back-end development, as well as a knack for problem-solving and collaboration. As a WordPress developer at our agency, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing our clients' digital visions to life. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around crafting custom, dynamic and user-friendly WordPress websites, leveraging your expertise in front-end and back-end development.

You will be working closely with your fellow developers and the project management team to provide updates on ongoing projects/tasks and to help provide accurate time estimates for potential new work.

The development team prides itself on its members sharing ideas, experiences and technical solutions not only on coding/development issues but also for the betterment of the team's internal and external processes where you think things can be improved.

You will need at least 4+ years of experience in WordPress development, ideally working in an agency, coupled with lots of ambition.

Your primary responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure the timely and accurate implementation of website features and functionalities.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Optimise websites for speed, performance, and search engine optimisation (SEO).
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in web development, proposing innovative solutions to enhance our projects.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions, providing technical insights and contributing to project planning and strategy.
  • Assist in quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing to identify and address any bugs or issues before deployment.
  • Maintain and update existing websites, implementing new features and enhancements as required.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience, ideally in an agency environment
  • Experience developing and delivering custom WordPress themes
    • Not using off-the-shelf themes, child themes, page builders like Elementor, Divi or other such plugins
    • Good understanding of custom post types, taxonomies, hooks, actions, filters, and general WordPress architecture
    • Custom Gutenberg Blocks
    • ACF Pro
    • WooCommerce
    • PHP
      (Experience with Laravel is advantageous)
    • HTML, CSS/Sass and JavaScript
    • Node/NPM
  • MySQL and database experience
  • Github / Version control experience
  • Understanding of JSON / REST API's
  • A working knowledge of the Adobe Suite/Figma
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
