Job SummaryResponsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining metrology systems and processes to ensure the highest quality and precision in manufacturing at Jabil, Inc.
Job Responsibilities- Design, develop, and validate metrology programming, equipment, fixtures, and measurement techniques for new and existing products.
- Perform Gage R&R studies and other measurement system analysis (MSA) activities to ensure measurement accuracy and repeatability.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to define critical dimensions and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve metrology-related issues, including equipment malfunctions, measurement discrepancies, and data analysis problems.
- Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) for critical measurements.
- Conduct training for manufacturing and quality personnel on metrology principles, equipment operation, and measurement techniques.
- Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality deviations.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in metrology technology and best practices.
- Document metrology processes, procedures, and results thoroughly.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 2+ years of experience in metrology engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience in metrology programming for CMM and OGP (PC-Dmis & MeasureMind 3D software proficiency).
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Proficiency with various metrology instruments (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, vision systems, laser trackers, calipers, micrometers).
- Experience with measurement system analysis (MSA) and statistical process control (SPC) software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) a plus.
