The Merchandiser will drive commercial performance across channels by delivering accurate, insight led merchandise plans and forecasts, optimising stock and range strategies, and maximising sales and margin. The role partners closely with Buying and cross functional teams to align product, promotions and events, while leveraging data, systems and analysis to inform trading decisions.
Job Responsibilities / What you will be doing- Own merchandise planning and forecast creation by channel, using historical data, market insight and seasonal trends
- Work hand in hand with the buyer to shape ranges and trading strategies
- Create and manage range planning for events and e com, including intake and stock levels
- Drive sales, margin and stock levels to deliver agreed KPI's
- Partner with other departments to incorporate promotions, launches and event forecasting
- Support the development of merchandising systems, reports and dashboards
- Mentor and support junior members of the merchandising team where required
- Experienced in a retail merchandising role for 3 5 years, sports retailing preferred but not essential
- Experience of an e commerce channel within a retail business
- Strong analytical and planning capabilities with advanced Excel skills and experience with retail systems
- A collaborative style and strong partnership with buying
- A confident, pragmatic approach to trading decisions
- You're highly organised, with a strong ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple deadlines across channels
- You build strong, collaborative relationships, especially with Buying and value working as part of a team
- You take a proactive, hands on approach to trading, with the confidence to adapt quickly in a fast paced retail environment
