Mental Health Practitioner (Young Refugee Service)

We are looking for someone who is excited to support young refugees from yrs. old living in Croydon. Young refugees have a unique and complex lived experience and need a range of different support that should be tailored to their needs. We deliver trauma informed, relational and humanistic mental health interventions and to help young refugees navigate their experiences in a new life and environment and to build their resilience and ability to use mental health resources and tools to gain insight into their emotions, feelings and behaviours. We are looking for someone with experience of working with young refugees or a passion to develop work with this client group and champions their needs in a complex life.
For all posts you need to have a mental health qualification and at least two years experience of working with young people. We are also looking for people with an open and flexible attitude; excellent engagement skills and a passion for working with children and young people around mental health.
Responsibilities include offering a flexible range of short-term and longer-term mental health interventions to children and young people aged 11-25 including individual and group-based support; workshops; crisis support; mental health themed activities. The posts have scope and opportunity for developing new initiatives and ways of working to support young people s mental health across South London.
All posts are fully office based and will require flexible working across service areas and interventions and will involve regular evening and weekend work to meet the needs of young people.
