Medical Scientist - Naas General Hospital

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, is currently recruiting a dynamic and qualified Medical Scientist to join the Haematology Laboratory team at Naas General Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to advance their career within a acute hospital setting.

Job responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized haematology and coagulation laboratory testing accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Evaluate, interpret, and technically validate analytical results before reporting them to clinical teams, ensuring prompt turnaround times for patient care.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex laboratory analyzers and instrumentation. Perform and document routine quality control (QC) checks.
• Assist in planning, prioritizing, and supervising the day-to-day technical workflow of the Haematology department.

Requirements

• A relevant Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent, with eligibility for membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM).
• Previous hands-on laboratory experience working specifically in Haematology and/or Blood Transfusion.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The Candidate:

• Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU.
