Role Description

The Medical Receptionist is a full time, on site role based in Manchester. This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing check in and check out processes, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Daily tasks include answering phones, responding to inquiries, scheduling and confirming appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records within the medical office systems. The Medical Receptionist will coordinate with physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other clinicians to manage diaries, handle referrals, and assist with billing and payment processing. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized reception area, protecting patient confidentiality, and supporting smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications
  • Strong receptionist and front desk skills, including Receptionist Duties and experience in a Medical Office environment.
  • Ability to manage Appointment Scheduling efficiently and accurately across multiple clinicians and services.
  • Professional Phone Etiquette and clear communication skills for handling patient calls and enquiries.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to physiotherapy, chiropractic and sports injury treatments.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting.
  • Comfort with using practice management or booking software and basic computer applications (email, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a patient focused approach, with the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare reception, medical admin, or customer service role is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data protection and clinic policies at all times.
