Medical Receptionist

As a medical receptionist, you will work as part of a team that completes day to day tasks. You will complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and will multitask and prioritise to get this work done. You will support clinical staff and problem solve for patients and display exceptional communication skills.
We have full time or part time positions available. Working hours between Monday-Sunday 8 am-8 pm.
The ideal candidate will have a positive and calm manner, be compassionate, patient, and understanding, well organised and able to work systematically. They will follow procedures and protocols closely, have good IT skills, be brilliant with people, and be able to work in a busy environment, being helpful and efficient when communicating with other staff and patients. Experience in a similar role is preferred.
Main duties of the job- Manage a busy reception, handling patient face to face queries and dealing with incoming phone calls.
- Use the e Referral system for referrals to hospitals and other care providers.
- Scan and file all correspondence into patients' medical records using the docman system.
- Triage all clinical correspondence and workflow necessary documents to clinicians.
- Code all relevant clinical information into patients' medical records.
- Make, cancel and amend appointments.
- Establish an effective recall system for patients to include QOF recalls, childhood immunisations, smears and flu vaccinations.
- Process all insurance and solicitor reports in a timely manner.
- Process copies of medical requests for patients and insurance companies in a timely manner.
- Complete all tasks in workflow manager to include deductions, GP2GP, etc.
- Efficiently deal with tasks from GPs, nurses and other staff.
- Work safely at all times in accordance with legislative requirements and practice policy and procedures.
- Promote the ethos and vision of Hope Citadel Healthcare within the practice, including staff, visitors and patients; through the provision of quality whole person healthcare.
- Attend and participate in any meetings required by the company, including practice meetings and any applicable training.
- Experience with EMIS.
- Experience of working within a primary care setting and team.
- Experience of handling patient queries in a calm and professional manner.
