Medical Administrator (receptionist)

Rising Brook Surgery is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to jointhe practice as a medical administrators (reception). Asa member of frontline staff you will be the first point of contact for ourservice users and visitors. You will need to be non-judgmental with excellentcommunication and listening skills.
You must be able to deal objectivelyand professionally in a calm and approachable manner when liaising with serviceusers, staff, healthcare professionals and outside agencies. Prioritising a busy workload, being a goodteam player and possessing the ability to deal with a wide range of clericaland administration duties in a busy environment is also required.
This post will require you to beflexible to provide relief cover for the holidays or sickness leave ofreception colleagues. Hours to beworked flexibly between 7.45am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, with the addition of 7am start and 8pm finishes some evenings and weekend work with flu and covid clinic (seasonal).
Main duties of the jobToensure the smooth day to day running of the Reception area, ensuring Receptionduties are completed efficiently and adhere to the guidelines that are laiddown by doctors and management.
Toensure that patients are received assisted and directed appropriately inaccessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way.
Providegeneral assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly imageto patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
About usWe are a welcoming, friendlyteam based in Stafford with approx. 8800 patientsregistered. Ourclinical team consists of 3 GP Partners, 1 Long-term Locum GP, 3 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 1 Practice Nurse Lead/Advanced Clinical Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and 1 Phlebotomist. We have 2 Practice Managers who work acrossall of our Practices, 13 Medical Administrators. We are also a training Practice. All of our employees are hard-working, and weall strive to deliver excellent patient care at all times.

Person Specification Qualifications- Previous experience of working in a public reception environment
- Previous Customer Service experience of dealing with the general public face to face and via telephone
- IT Literate, previous experience of Microsoft Office software
- Customer Service qualification or equivalent
- Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense, to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities with the ability to work as part of an integrated, multi-skilled team.
- Pleasant and articulate with the ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
- Reliable and flexible to the practice needs, willing to undertake a variety of duties
