Location

Mechanical Technician - Blanchardstown.

Duration and Hours

Permanent, 39 hours per week - 07:30 to 16:00. No shift work.

Overview of the Role

The successful candidate will work in a pharmaceutical environment as part of a team of day technicians. The role involves planning and performing maintenance activities, commissioning, project support and vendor coordination.

Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the utilities team and plan work activities in line with maintenance and process schedules.
  • Assist in commissioning activities, project support and equipment vendor maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Utilities and Engineering Departments to plan and schedule required maintenance activities.
  • Manage and support service or equipment vendors during maintenance to ensure applicable standards are adhered to.
  • Liaise with discipline leads to coordinate activities for efficient execution of maintenance.
  • Ensure all PTW and mechanical isolations are in place for maintenance related to mechanical utilities.
  • Develop cost saving and energy reduction initiatives on utility systems.
  • Update GMP maintenance documents and drawings to reflect changes and improve operation.
  • Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on all operational equipment.
  • Proactively solve problems to ensure operational issues are resolved permanently.
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken for all equipment and operational problems to drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan and develop maintenance plans where required.
  • Operate and maintain utility systems.
  • Respond to any request from operations for utility related issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship or 3rd Level qualification with mechanical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical utilities or process maintenance.
  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical or biologics industry.
  • Strong practical mechanical knowledge.
  • Execution of mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on production systems such as pumps, autoclaves, inspection machines, etc.
  • Support both the electrical and calibration departments within the production area.
  • Follow all relevant SOPs and procedures when completing maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all work is recorded on the relevant CMMS systems.
  • Acute awareness of GMP practices.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and system P&IDs.
  • Maintain all documentation in an organised and controlled manner, in compliance with client procedures.
  • Attend daily meetings and provide status updates.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
