About the Role

Are you someone who thrives on planning mechanical TAR scopes and ensuring every event runs safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget-even when late or unexpected work arises?

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop execution work pack documents for mechanical TAR scope, including preventive, breakdown (inc. fabrication repairs), and project activities. The work pack documents typically include the following: Job Detail; Hazard identification and mitigation measures; Detailed job plan; P&ID identifying location of scope/assets; Annotated photograph of scope/assets; Plot plan identifying location of scope/assets; Additional related engineering drawings; Joint integrity details; Bill of Materials; Temporary Equipment requirements; Scaffold (access/lifting) details; Insulation (removal/refitting) details.
  • Contribute to the team ethos within the TAR, Engineering, and wider manufacturing teams.
  • Excellent communication & coordination skills.
  • Interrogation of document management systems to obtain the necessary drawings and procedures.
  • Use of CMMS (Maximo) to identify Work Order, Preventive Maintenance, Job Plan and spares details.
  • Ownership of the TAR joint management process: management of the FlanjTag process, from data entry to sign off. Ownership and execution of the flange/joint QA process.
  • Work closely with the engineering, operations, permits and procurement teams to ensure safe and efficient implementation of asset maintenance requirements, recording and tracking technical queries as they arise.
  • Provide support to planners from other disciplines where mechanical input is required.
  • Support TAR continuous improvement/digitisation work streams.
  • Identify and record any risks that emerge as part of the planning process.
  • Identify lessons learnt and areas for improvement, contributing to the lessons-learnt review process (task specific or procedural improvements).
  • Identify where the scope calls for technical inspection or offsite repairs and ensure this is captured to enable tracking during the TAR execution phase.
  • Population of the master bill of materials (BOM) with responsibility for its accuracy.
  • Population of the master Temporary Equipment list with responsibility for its accuracy.
  • Support the TAR preparation and execution process by accepting permits to work on behalf of contractors.
Your Skills and Experience

Education (preferred)

  • Completion of an engineering apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3 in mechanical maintenance (or equivalent)
  • HNC in mechanical engineering discipline (or equivalent)

Training (preferred)

  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) awareness.
  • Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI10).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development / technical training.
  • Confined space entry.

Experience (preferred)

  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience, preferably in the Petro/Chemical industry.
  • Planning of maintenance activities.
  • Experience of working within a CMMS system (preferably Maximo)
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of scheduling software (e.g. MS Project, PrimaVera P6)
  • Acceptance of work permits (inc. Hot Work, Excavation and Confined Space Entry)
