The Role - Mechanical Project Manager

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the mechanical package on a major data centre project in Dublin. You will lead the mechanical delivery team on site, ensuring that programme milestones, quality benchmarks and commercial targets are achieved.

This is a senior site based position where you will coordinate subcontractors, manage reporting, drive productivity and maintain strict control over health and safety standards. Your leadership will directly impact programme delivery, client satisfaction and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full mechanical scope of works in line with drawings, specifications, budget and programme
• Manage critical path activities and track key milestones to avoid delays
• Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with package managers and supervisors
• Lead mechanical engineers, supervisors and subcontractors on site
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower levels and productivity
• Review technical submissions and construction proposals
• Liaise with design teams to resolve technical queries and ensure buildability
• Chair weekly progress and commercial meetings with the project team
• Prepare detailed weekly reports including progress updates, look ahead programmes and risk notifications
• Manage procurement forecasting and long lead mechanical equipment
• Track variations and support the commercial team with cost control
• Promote a strong QHSE culture across all mechanical activities
• Manage change control processes and assess programme and cost impacts

About You

• Minimum 10 years' experience delivering large scale mechanical projects in Ireland or the UK
• Strong background in mechanical building services, HVAC, pipework and associated systems
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on data centre or other mission critical projects
• Trade or Engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, programme and budget effectively
• Strong leadership style with the ability to motivate and coordinate large site teams
• Excellent reporting, organisational and communication skills
• Commercially aware with experience managing variations and subcontractor accounts
• Driven, detail focused and committed to delivering projects on time and to specification
