Arcon Recruitment, the longest established recruitment agency in Mayo, is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturing company based in County Mayo.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a busy production environment where they will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of plant and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Based on the uploaded job description.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on production equipment and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on machinery and plant equipment
  • Conduct equipment overhauls, upgrades, and modifications
  • Install, assemble, and commission new machinery and equipment
  • Maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Carry out inspections and condition monitoring activities
  • Complete maintenance documentation and records accurately
  • Support production teams in minimising downtime and improving operational efficiency
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and critical stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Requirements
  • Mechanical trade qualification, Mechanical Technician qualification, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a maintenance environment
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with production or manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems (CMMS experience advantageous)
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
