Job Description

BnM is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Edenderry. The power plant is maintained by small core teams, each consisting of Maintenance Technicians working under the guidance and leadership of a Maintenance Engineer. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Engineer and will be responsible for delivering challenging maintenance tasks while meeting engineering, commercial, safety, environmental, quality, and personal development objectives.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Contribute to the mechanical maintenance function to maximise plant availability and efficiency while maintaining safe systems of work. Ensure the efficient use of appropriate spare parts in line with budgetary requirements and maintain accurate records within the Maintenance Management System.
  • Ensure that all maintenance plans and team targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and within the plant's environmental limits. Broaden experience by supporting the Maintenance Engineer in their duties, such as assisting with maintenance planning. Carry out fault diagnosis and troubleshooting as required. Conduct regular plant inspections and perform operational duties as needed. Demonstrate pro active and creative problem solving skills, taking initiative where appropriate.
  • Participate in the implementation of the Plant Business Management System, including the Plant Safety Release programme. Carry out preventative maintenance and other assigned works, reporting accurately to the Maintenance Management System. Maintain records of all relevant quality documentation as required.
  • Proactive in the timely reporting of any issues that arise that may compromise the operation of the plant.
  • All employees are expected to co operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co employees and members of the public using the premises.
  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.
What we're looking for:
  • Should possess appropriate technical qualifications, such as HND, HC, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in large scale energy or infrastructure project deliveryProfessional project management certification (e.g. PMP or equivalent) is desirable.Post graduate qualification in project management is desirable
  • Competency across a broad range project management skills must be demonstrated.Familiarity with energy infrastructure sector in Ireland.
  • Excellent technical appraisal, report writing and communications skills essential.Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
