Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter - Cork

Monday Friday hours - Permanent role.

Role Summary

As a Maintenance Fitter you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production machinery and equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repair tasks on various beef processing equipment, including conveyors, motors/gearboxes, and packaging machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.
• Replace and repair defective components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum 2 years post apprenticeship experience as a Time served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or a similar mechanic.
• Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with machines, process equipment, controls & automation.
• Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance and refrigeration systems.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and logical problem solving skills.
• Holds a full driving licence.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and on call.
• Level 6 trade certificate or other.
