Mechanical Engineer required to support local council

My client are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join their Property Services team based in Livingston.This role will see you contributing to the design, development, and delivery of mechanical engineering construction projects across the estate, alongside planned improvement works.
The successful candidate will report on project progress, contractor performance, and budget adherence, while liaising with external consultants to ensure high-quality, timely designs aligned strategic goals. Acting as Contract Administrator, you will oversee mechanical refurbishment and energy-related projects, provide technical and procurement advice, and support front-line services with feasibility studies, design development, and quality control. You will also help drive innovation and sustainable construction practices, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and assist in developing safety standards and maintenance policies.
The successful candidate must hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering with ideally a membership of IMechE, CIBSE or similar. Have substantial post-qualification experience, and demonstrate strong communication skills.
