Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to continued growth and investment, they are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

Your new role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of complex engineered products, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams throughout the full product lifecycle.

Responsibilities will include:

• Creating detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
• Developing innovative mechanical design solutions from concept through to production
• Supporting new product introduction (NPI) and product development activities
• Producing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
• Working closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and programme teams
• Supporting design verification, validation, and testing activities
• Conducting engineering calculations and design reviews
• Identifying opportunities for continuous product improvement and cost reduction
• Ensuring designs comply with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related discipline
• Previous experience within a design engineering role in a manufacturing environment
• Strong 3D CAD experience (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks or similar)
• Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
• Understanding of DFM, DFMA and engineering best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team

Desirable experience:

• Product development or R&D experience
• Knowledge of composite, sheet metal, machined, or fabricated components
• Experience within aerospace, automotive, transportation, or other highly regulated industries
