Job Title: Mechanical Commissioning Lead

Role Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Dublin

I am currently recruiting a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to join a large Manufacturing & Data Centre Services organisation onsite in Dublin.

This is a senior technical role focused on leading the commissioning of liquid-cooled mechanical systems, ensuring high-quality delivery from design through to integrated system testing and client handover.

The Ideal Candidate

• Do you have 7+ years' experience in mechanical commissioning within facilities or data centre environments?
• Do you have strong experience with liquid cooling systems such as CDUs or direct-to-chip cooling?
• Have you led commissioning from design review through to IST and handover?
• Are you comfortable acting as the technical authority on complex commissioning activities?
• A strong understanding of hydronic systems, controls, and failure mode testing is essential.

The Role

• Develop and lead the commissioning strategy for liquid-cooled data centre systems
• Define commissioning methodologies, test levels (L1-L5), and acceptance criteria
• Provide design-for-commissioning input during early project stages
• Act as technical authority for mechanical commissioning and issue resolution
• Lead commissioning across systems including CDUs, chillers, heat exchangers, pumps, and pipework
• Develop commissioning procedures including flushing, pressure testing, and thermal performance testing
• Oversee site execution and provide technical support to regional commissioning teams
• Witness FAT, SAT, and critical on-site commissioning activities
• Support integrated systems testing (IST), failure mode testing, and system validation
• Work closely with electrical and controls teams during commissioning phases
• Support client demonstrations and handover processes
• Ensure all systems are ready for live IT load introduction
