Manpower Engineering are delighted to be working with a well-established company who are experts in high-pressure fluid control to help them recruit a permanent Mechanical Fitter.
Location: WashingtonHours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am-3:45pm, Friday 7:00am-2:00pmOvertime: Regularly available and paid at time and a third (weekdays) and time and a half (weekends)
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitter to join their busy and growing team. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability and excellent working conditions.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for assembling a range of products and engineered systems, including instrumentation pipework, and carrying out hydraulic and pneumatic testing to ensure all quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble standard and bespoke products.
- Pipe up instrumentation and install low- and high-pressure pipework ( " to ") using twin ferrule fittings.
- Carry out hydraulic and pneumatic testing, ensuring all documentation and pre-checks are completed.
- Participate in pre-handover meetings with Engineering to understand build requirements and potential issues.
What You Will Need
- Completed apprenticeship or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (ONC/HND or equivalent).
- Proven ability to read and interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams, technical drawings, and BOMs.
- Experience with high-pressure fittings and pressure testing procedures.
- A strong problem-solver, able to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
