Strong numeracy skills can open doors for young people - and your support could make that difference. A specialist secondary provision in Sunderland is seeking a Maths Support Teaching Assistant to help pupils aged 11-16 who struggle with numeracy due to learning difficulties, ADHD or autism.
Responsibilities- Supporting pupils during maths lessons
- Delivering small group numeracy intervention sessions
- Helping pupils understand key maths concepts
- Encouraging confidence when approaching maths tasks
- Supporting GCSE maths preparation
A strong understanding of maths is beneficial but experience in education is not essential.
Candidates may start on a trainee TA scale while gaining classroom experience.
Classroom Environment- Classes are typically 8-10 pupils, allowing staff to provide targeted support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
