Materials Technician Location: Newton, Cambridge (on-site) You play a key role in keeping production moving. You manage materials, components, and consumables through the warehouse with accuracy and discipline. You work closely with operations, procurement, and quality to ensure the right parts are available at the right time.This is a hands-on role in a technical manufacturing environment. Training is provided where needed. What you will do: Operate stock rotation and store materials correctly, following ESD handling requirements. Maintain accurate bin locations and inventory records within the MRP system. Complete scheduled cycle counts and support the annual stock take. Manage shelf life controls and Kanban inventory where applicable. Investigate, reconcile, and close stock discrepancies promptly. Keep all stores areas clean, organised, and safe at all times. Follow site safety procedures and safe working practices. Support colleagues across the department, including holiday cover, while demonstrating the company's core values. What you bring: Essential On-site, hands-on mindset. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organisation and time management skills. Clear communication skills and the ability to work with cross functional teams. GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths. Confidence working independently once trained. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Desirable (training provided) Experience with stock control systems, card index, and MRP. Knowledge of part traceability requirements. Ability to use measuring and inspection equipment. Experience reading technical documentation and drawings. Full UK driving licence. Work in a globally recognised robotics and automation business.
