We are looking for an enthusiastic Materials Management Officer with a flexible approach and good customer service skills to join our team at Chichester Hospital. The role involves providing a cost effective materials management service, ensuring the replenishment of ward stocks with PDA/bar code technology, keeping stock levels on target and maintaining orderly storage areas.
Main duties of the job- Provide a high quality Materials Management service across the Trust, ensuring appropriate stock levels and supply routes.
- Support the development and implementation of the Trust's Procurement strategy.
- Identify and investigate opportunities to extend the Materials Management service.
- Participate in product appraisal, evaluation and coordination of trials for Materials Management items.
This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. If using a Graduate visa, at least 18 months must remain at the time of application.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receive and deliver ordered stock to the correct location.
- Order required stock for replenishment to meet minimum/maximum levels.
- Maintain stock in an organised manner, ensuring all labels are clear and in good condition.
- Liaise with location staff, communicating supply constraints and offering approved alternatives.
- Warehousing / logistics experience.
- Customer Service skills.
- Stock control knowledge.
- Evidence of undertaking own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
