The Role

As the Material Planning and Inventory Manager, you will:

  • Align demand planning with manufacturing, marketing, and material planning to meet customer requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals, conducting performance reviews and supporting career development.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate demand forecasts and production schedules.
  • Resolve conflicts between supply constraints and customer expectations through proactive planning.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
  • Lead change management initiatives for new systems and procedures.
  • Define and maintain optimal inventory levels in collaboration with supply chain and finance teams.
  • Monitor inventory health using KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Improve forecast accuracy by analysing data and market trends to minimise excess and obsolete inventory.
The Person

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in material planning and inventory management within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain components and their impact on operations.
  • Experience in resolving obstacles to meet production schedules and removing material flow barriers.
  • Tactical and strategic planning skills to adapt to changing demands and supply constraints.
  • Expertise in identifying bottlenecks in the material planning cycle and implementing solutions.
  • Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing a team of supply chain professionals.
