Main Purpose of Role
The Master Data Governance Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring complete and accurate Material Master data exists in the ERP system to support transactional activities.

Material master data contains business critical information for all materials that GDHV uses in its procurement, planning, manufacturing and supply chain processes. The Master data Governance manger leads the management of the ERP repository for information on materials and contains data elements including part number, description, technical specifications for Product Engineering, stocking codes plus customer and vendor master data.

The successful candidate will work closely with teams across the organisation to drive Master Data best practice and delivering business results whilst developing the Master data team across multiple UK sites.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the quality and accuracy of Material Master data in the SAP ERP system across the GDHV division including inputs and outputs.
  • Establish policies and implement procedures to ensure data standards are adhered to within GDHV. Weekly status updates and new materials creation.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability of the company's data assets.
  • Lead SAP Material Master governance and acts as Business Process Owner for Material Master including Bills of Material, Routings, Production version and other data objects in SAP. Sharing relevant data with internal stakeholder processes as required.
  • Work closely alongside the Product Marketing team to ensure data introduction processes align with New Product Introduction processes. Lead New Product Introduction processes for data governance including timing of basic setup and enrichment, data activities completed in advance of requirements including spares data consideration.
  • Lead and develop a team of Master Data Analysts to ensure materials, customer and vendor accounts are created on time to support business processes for all ERP dependencies including financial and operational.
  • Roll out data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality through behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • Accountable for accuracy of Material Status (lifecycle) for all materials from cradle to grave. Driving process adherence ensuring data accuracy, integrity and provision in the correct timeframe and sequence.
  • Be the GDHV business liaison with other Master Data Governance teams across the GD group to share best practice and ensure processes are compatible.
  • Define and implement best in class indicators of performance and data quality metrics. Drive for compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements whilst maintaining business critical data security
  • Inputs to business projects as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential Criteria

  • Experience (5+ years) in Master Data management and related activities.
  • Proven knowledge of Data policies and procedures
  • Proven proactive leader with excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the business.
  • Conscientious and methodical style to ensure high data compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to drive best in class Data management and influence key stakeholders.
  • Self -managing and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Understanding business needs and anticipating the responds and changes appropriately.
  • Working Knowledge of SAP S4 Hana or equivalent
  • Enthusiastic leader with good initiative and proactive approach to work
  • Proactively identifying data inaccuracies and root causes to drive solutions to ensure data process and management improvements
  • Align data processes to key business processes including NPDI Stage Gate process
  • Influence key stakeholders to ensure data enrichment is completed on time
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office including Excel.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, SAP S4/Hana system preferable
  • Knowledge of core business processes including New Product luge cycle management
  • Ability to create and foster relationships across all levels of a business

Travel
You will be required to travel to other Glen Dimplex sites on a regular basis and travel to suppliers as required.
