Quality Engineer - Cleanroom Manufacturing (Aerospace/Defense)

About the Role
ALTEN Netherlands is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support a high-tech manufacturing project focused on the assembly, integration, and testing of precision systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, with hands-on experience in quality processes, visual inspection, and cleanroom environments, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
This role requires a proactive professional who thrives in technically complex environments and can collaborate effectively across engineering and production teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee quality control and inspection activities during all stages of assembly and integration
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols and manufacturing standards
- Apply knowledge of materials, mechanical systems, and production techniques to support quality assurance
- Utilize MIS systems to track quality metrics, documentation, and process improvements
- Perform and document visual inspections and validation of mechanical assemblies
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address non-conformities and drive continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
- Preferably experienced in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability industries
- Demonstrated experience in cleanroom manufacturing environments
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and assembly processes
- Proficient in the use of MIS systems for quality monitoring and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus
- Based in or willing to relocate to Leiden, Netherlands
