Job Description

Based in Co Down, our client is a well established engineering business who, due to continued business success, have a need for an additional Manufacturing Engineer.

The successful Manufacturing Engineer will focus on increasing efficiency, improving product quality, minimizing waste, and assisting with new product introductions in a fast-paced production environment. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyse current processes to identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary assembly teams to resolve issues and eliminate barriers to production flow.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Collaborate with assembly teams to design, specify, and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling that support safe and efficient assembly operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and fixture issues to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Criteria:

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field and/or minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Proficient in reading and interrogating engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills.

Salary is in the region of £38-42k dependant upon experience.
