About the Role:

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the Manufacturing Engineer will take responsibility for developing, improving and optimising manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment. The role operates within a fast paced production environment and requires the ability to work to defined timelines.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Production planning - Plan, coordinate and implement efficient, cost effective production methods for major sub components and complete machines.
  • Cross functional coordination - Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to establish and implement containment actions and root cause solutions.
  • Standard work implementation - Introduce and maintain best practice standard work on the shop floor.
  • Build/drawing pack management - Create and maintain build documentation in line with Engineering Change Orders and New Product Development.
  • Department liaison - Collaborate with supply chain, engineering and quality functions.
  • Lean Manufacturing - Apply Lean tools including line balancing, 5S and Poka Yoke.
  • Safety integration - Ensure all processes, new and existing, incorporate safe working practices.
  • Production support - Provide day to day support to the Manufacturing Department.
  • Problem solving - Apply logical and methodical approaches to resolve issues.

Criteria:

  • HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle experience advantageous).
  • Competent with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with 3D modelling software is beneficial.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of machine shop and fabrication processes is advantageous.
  • Strong multi tasking, attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Logical, methodical approach with strong teamwork skills.
