Job Description

We are seeking a hands on Manufacturing & Assembly Technician to join our small, skilled production team. This is a hybrid role combining technical assembly of electronic components and connectors with process support to ensure smooth, efficient, and high quality production.

Responsibilities

Lead technical assembly activities, including building small components and electronic assemblies (1-200 pieces per batch).

Create, update, and maintain work instructions, standard processes, and Quality Care Points.

Assist in first off/new product builds and maintain standard work documentation.

Support training of other production staff on safe and correct use of tools, equipment, and processes.

Conduct preventative maintenance and coordinate calibration of production equipment.

Support production inspection activities, including Goods In and customer specific Goods Out checks.

Maintain accurate records in IT systems, including Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and quality requirements.

Requirements

Relevant experience in an electro mechanical assembly role.

Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610) and soldering/crimping processes.

Awareness of NASA STD 8739.3 and BS EN IEC 60352-2 desirable.

Hands on experience with soldering, tin dipping, wire stripping, crimping, and general assembly tools.

Strong IT literacy and numeracy; able to use MRP systems.

Attention to detail, methodical approach, and self motivated.

A levels, engineering diploma, or relevant apprenticeship preferred; a degree is not required.

Hands on & varied: Combines assembly and semi technical tasks.

Skill growth: Experience with IPC standards, assemblies, and process documentation.

Support & training: Learn and lead under guidance from the Production Supervisor.

Team environment: Small, close knit production team with clear responsibilities.
