Manchester Moss Park: Women's Head Coach

Manchester Moss Park Hockey Club is a community-focused, friendly hockey club based in Chorlton, Manchester. We are a relatively small club with big ambitions, aiming to provide an enjoyable and competitive hockey experience for all our members. Our women's teams compete in the North West Hockey League.

  • 1st Team: North West Division 2
  • 2nd Team: North West Division 5
  • 3rd Team: North West Division 6

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Head Coach to oversee our women's teams, support player development, and raise the standard of play across the club. This role requires a friendly, flexible approach, a collaborative spirit, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver weekly 2 hour training sessions for the women's teams (August - March, with a Christmas break).
  • Attend and support as many weekend matches as possible for all three teams with a focus on 1st team games.
  • Provide input and guidance across all three teams, tailoring coaching to the needs of each group.
  • Collaborate positively with our Assistant Coach, ensuring clear communication and aligned coaching strategies.
  • Motivate and support players, encouraging participation, skill development, and team cohesion.
  • Independently run sessions that are structured, engaging, and adaptable to players' abilities.
  • Promote a friendly, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
  • Aim to enhance overall standards of play, helping players reach their potential while maintaining enjoyment of the game.
Requirements
  • Previous coaching experience, preferably in hockey at club or regional level.
  • Ability to run training sessions independently with relevant coaching courses completed (Level 2 Coaching Qualification or equivalent).
  • Availability to attend weekend matches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and approachable coaching style.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other coaches is preferred.
