Location: Manchester, UK
Salary: £180,000 + Executive Benefits + Performance Bonus

We are seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead a well-established and ambitious logistics business based in Manchester. Operating across the UK with a strong reputation for service excellence, operational efficiency, and customer focus, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

The Managing Director will have full P&L responsibility and lead the strategic, commercial and operational performance of the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is a high-profile leadership role for a commercially astute executive who can drive sustainable growth, strengthen operational performance and inspire a high-performing leadership team.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and executing the company's strategic growth plan.
  • Leading all commercial, operational, financial and people functions.
  • Driving revenue growth, profitability and market expansion.
  • Building and maintaining key customer, supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Identifying opportunities for operational improvement and business transformation.
  • Creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and service delivery.
  • Providing regular performance reporting and strategic recommendations to the Board.
Experience

We are looking for a proven executive leader with:

  • Previous experience as a Managing Director, CEO, Operations Director or equivalent senior leadership role.
  • A strong track record within logistics, transport, supply chain, warehousing, distribution or related sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience managing significant P&L responsibility.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and strategic thinking capability.
  • Experience leading large, multi-site operations and senior management teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • A results-driven mindset with the ability to deliver growth and operational excellence.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication and decision-making abilities.
